Planning Approval for Speke

On 7th April 2009 Liverpool City Council approved the planning application for a new Neighbourhood Health Centre in Speke. The new 2,800m2 scheme will replace the existing facility which will take the health provision in the area into to the 21st Century. The design of the new building will be modern with light and airy spaces and will also incorporated some of the latest environmental technologies providing a percentage of its own power by way of a wind turbine and solar panels, water recycling will also add to saving the environment.

The scheme will incorporate the following services:

Three GP Practices relocating from the existing facility
Dental Services
Phlebotomy
Podiatry
Education and Training Suites
Sexual Health Services
Midwifery Children Services
Vaccination and Immunisation
A range of outpatient consulting services
A range of outpatient treatment services including minor surgery
Pharmacy

Speke Neighbourhood Health Centre is one of three schemes within next phase of schemes which also includes Garston and Oriel Drive in Aintree It will be the 9th scheme that Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership will have developed which goes along way into contributing to upgrading the Primary Care Health Service in both Liverpool and Sefton. The planned operational date of the new building will be October 2010.
