Centre Manager Update

In July 2008, Liverpool and Sefton Health Partnership recruited a Contract Manager and four Site Managers to operate the Neighbourhood Health Centres in Breeze Hill, Picton, Everton and Yew Tree.

Under the direction of Wendy Jones, Contract Manager, the Site Managers have increased utilization and ensured the centres are community focused and operate efficiently and effectively.

Breaking the mold of the role of a traditional Building Manager, the Site Managers not only run the buildings, manage defects and increase capacity, but they are key to relationship building with the General Practices, Provider Services and groups within the third sector whose focus is on the people within the Neighbourhoods and their health and well being. In addition they address all areas of non-conformance to statutory requirements.

In the 8 months that the Contract has been in place, the following have been successfully implemented:-

Standardised reporting on site Key Performance Indicators/Room Utilisation/Patient Numbers/Issues and Defects/Spend and weekly Highs and Lows...

Creation and Implementation of standard Operating Procedures and Induction Packs for all Tenants and Visitors to the Sites

Regular Site Meetings with the Tenants and PCT Tenant Representatives giving a voice to all to who work within the building

Monitoring and Management of the Proposed Planned Maintenance Schedules which are essential to the safe upkeep and inner-workings of the site and act as conduit to the Facilities Management Providers to ensure they fulfill their obligations.

The arranging and implementation of Community focused activities such as Health Awareness, Adult Education and Alcohol Awareness promotions

Working with local groups to promote the medical sites through Newsletters distributed within the Neighbourhoods and creating an awareness of the services available to the residents

The presence of the Site Managers has proved invaluable. Each individual is recruited for their business acumen and desire to make the sites operate at high performance levels and the whole team is passionate and dedicated to making centres operate efficiently and effectively.

Going forward, the team is involved in various Projects to continue to improve the services provided to the general public. These Include:-
