This year I was fortunate enough to be given a guided tour of the Mersey Care Mental Health Trust’s newest building – Clock View in Liverpool.
On my visit I met a Ward Manager who told me all about a little beauty salon they had set up to help their clients feel good about themselves and also to help them look great when their visitors arrived, which is a positive experience for everyone.
Dietra, the Ward Manager, told me about the importance of the feel good factor, so much so, the staff provide all the shampoos, nail varnishes and other beauty products themselves.
With their usual enthusiasm and desire to make a difference and under the direction of Louise Hallaron, the Asset and Engagement Managers with their own funds, bought a wide range of items to create a special hamper. This included, makeup, brushes, hair products, a huge variety of nail colours and many more items. On hearing of this great success, we matched the value of the items with another large parcel of products.
The picture shows Louise Hallaron presenting one of the gift hampers to Dietra who was delighted at everybody’s generosity in helping support the beauty salon.
This is just another example of the great community work undertaken by the Asset Management team in the North West.
